What You Can Expect from Me
My engagement with others is always empathic and understanding. I am a true listener and focus only on areas that inspire you. I sincerely do not judge; there is nothing that we cannot talk about. You can expect me to ask questions that are thought-provoking and sincere, and I might invite you to think about experiences in ways different than you have before. I believe that no one knows you better than you know you – you are the expert on you, so I will never give you advice. We will work on evidence-based skills and strategies, that feel comfortable and helpful to you, to improve well-being. My goals for therapy are to ensure that you always feel safe in my presence, are listened to, and reach your desired outcomes.

Counselling/Therapy Approach
I use evidence-based approaches in all of my work. I provide cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and functional family therapy (FFT)  within a motivational interviewing framework. I draw upon other evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as I get to know each person and what their needs and desires are.

Background and Experience
I am fortunate to have had numerous years of extensive therapeutic training and rigorous supervision during and after earning my masters and doctorate degrees. I have co-authored several treatment manuals for use in family therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, integrative therapy, and in the treatment of depression, and alcohol & substance abuse. I am a Motivational Interviewing practitioner, and all of my clinical approaches are scientific, and evidence-based.
